Naughty male dogs can be a problem, especially when females are in heat.  When we started having problems with our Yorkies, we decided to make these bellybands to stop their marking, and, found as a bonus, they kept my two male yorkies from breeding my female through two heat periods. 

We tried several different materials and widths; padding and no padding, waterproof and not; wide, narrow, until we finally decided what we think works the best and makes a great bellyband, comfortable on our dog, and convenient for us.  I change my dog's sanitary pad twice a day and wipe him down with a baby wipe - it only takes a second - he wears his all the time because he refuses to stop lifting his leg on the side of my couch. 

When it becomes soiled, I just remove the sanitary pad, attach the velcro to itself and throw the bellyband into my washing machine and dryer.  They are very durable and save a lot of damage to my sofa.

 

NEW - BABYBANDS FOR TINY PUPPIES

BabyBands are our newest creation!!  These are two inches wide and 13-14 inches long...they accommodate half (lengthwise) of a sanitary napkin and are for baby puppies (who have a waist and rib cage about the same) - we found the wider bellybands tend to slip off a puppy's waist and impede their walking.  These are much narrower and smaller at the end where the velcro strips are, so you can wrap around a puppy's waist and tighten or loosen as needed.  They are intended for smaller puppies (like Yorkies, chihuahuas, min pins, pomeranians, small terriers, and other small dogs who remain small for longer.

Babybands - approx 12" x 2" wide for small puppies $10.95 per pair (we need your puppy's waist measurement) - If you want two different colors, please make a note of the colors on your paypal payment.  You can use a sanitary napkin cut in half lengthwise with these bands = These will fit an 8 or 9 inch waist.

How to measure

The best way to decide upon the correct measurement for your males belly band is to:

1.  LOOSELY wrap a tape measure around your dog's midsection (NOT over the ribs, but just in front of his hind legs). DO NOT pull the tape snug similar to measuring a person's waist.   GIRLIEBANDS - we need a waist measurement and a measurement lengthwise on her underside (belly) from waist to base of tail.

2. If your dog has a small waist and a large deep rib cage move the measuring tape forward approximately 3 inches, next to the ribs, and confirm that the size you have measured prior will still fit.  If not, increase the measurement to allow for increased rib area.

3. We add 4 inches for the overlapping velcro to all Bellybands ordered.  Example; if you measure 13 inches we will send you a 17 inch long Belly Band with 3" strips of velcro for adjusting.   The 4 inches allow for a thick sanitary pad and 3" overlap.

Remember!

• While making your Belly Band measurement, remember to take into consideration that the bands DO NOT stretch.

Returns & Additional Charges

• If the bands you ordered do not fit your dog, we will send replacement bellybands after we determine with the buyer the correct size.  Upon receiving the returned belly bands,  we will make and ship a new set of bands. 

 

• There will be a shipping charge for shipping replacement bands.

 

• An additional charge will be made to reflect that cost, if the replacement measurement goes up to the next priced size of bellybands

• Most Bands are Custom Made to size ordered.  Allow 7 - 10 business days for your order to be made, boxed & shipped.  Express orders can be made with a minimal extra charge.  Please email for information.

Girliebands catch urine only in a sanitary pad which fits inside.  They have adjustible velcro closures, as well as elastic lace for the "thongs" which can either be permanently attached to the band or attached with velcro for adjustibility, depending upon your preference.
